Zane Schemmer
President
Bio
Zane is a 3rd-year PhD student in the civil and environmental engineering department. His research uses topology optimization to design more sustainable and constructible infrastructure. Zane received his BS and MS from UC Berkeley, where his work focused on earthquake engineering. Originally from Park City, Utah, he loves spending time outdoors golfing, hiking, and skiing. He has served as an officer of the club since February 2023.
Jacob Yeaman
Treasurer
Bio
Jacob is an undergraduate student from Sugar City, Idaho studying Computer Science, Data Science, and Economics (Course 6-14) and Business Analytics (Course 15-2). He has been an officer for about 3 years and has played golf regularly for 8 years.
Chris Kwon
Brand and Digital Comms Manager
Bio
Chris is a third year PhD student in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics. From Burke, Virginia, Chris began casually playing golf recreationally in high school with friends. Aside from golf, he enjoys exploring fashion and photography, reading novels, and watching anime. He has served as an officer of the club since February 2023.
Eric Roy
Competitive Team Coordinator
Bio
Eric is a third year PhD candidate in the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences. Originally from Lowell, MA, Eric began playing golf when he was 11 and started playing competitively in high school. Eric participated in club golf as a member and officer while completing his undergraduate studies at UMass Lowell before joining the team at MIT.
Byron Chin
External Events Manager
Bio
Byron is a Ph.D. student in Math (Course 18) from West Windsor, New Jersey. He has been playing golf for too long (20 years) but still hasn’t gotten tired of it yet. Off the course, you can find him struggling with math, playing card games, or solving Rubik’s cubes.
Mia Liang
External Events Manager
Bio
Mia is from Charlottesville, VA and is a senior studying Math and Computer Science. Aside from golf, she likes traveling, crafts, rowing, house music, and NYT games.
Marc Rizk
Internal Events Manager
Bio
Marc is a senior from London studying Aerospace Engineering and Finance at MIT. Outside of MIT Golf, he is a member of the Men’s Lightweight Crew team. He is interested in Venture Capital and startups.
Brett Chatfield
Internal Events Manager
Bio
Brett is a Massachusetts native pursuing an MBA at MIT Sloan. He was previously a member of the NCAA team at Bentley University and has been an officer since 2024.
Dominic Hess
Marketing Operations Manager
Bio
Dominic is a second-year student at MIT studying Mechanical Engineering and Finance. Originally from Damascus, Maryland, Dominic began playing golf recreationally in high school and quickly developed a passion for the game. In addition to being an officer for MIT’s Club Golf Team, he is also a member of MIT’s NCAA football team. Outside of football and golf, he enjoys snowboarding, rooting for New York sports teams, and playing poker with the boys.
Anthony Catanzaro
Finances Strategist
Bio
Anthony is an MBA candidate. Before MIT, he worked in the investment management industry and is originally from Rhode Island. He started taking golf lessons at age 10, and people assume he’s a way better golfer than he is when they hear that. His goals now are to get out on the course more, enjoy the time, and not lose any balls in the woods.
