How do I join the club?
To join the club, you need to fill out the necessary information on the provided Google form (see Resources page), register for the team and complete waivers on the MIT Club Sports website, and send your dues to the officer team via Zelle or PayPal.
Who can join the club?
The club is open to all MIT students, faculty, and staff.
Do I need experience to join the club?
No, you do not need prior experience to join the club. The club welcomes members of all skill levels.
Can I compete if I am a complete beginner?
Yes, beginners can compete. The club offers both recreational and competitive memberships, allowing members to participate in tournaments if they choose.
Is there a coach?
There is no ‘coach,’ however, the club offers lessons with Certified PGA Golf Instructor, Joe Rocha.
Do I renew my membership every semester?
Yes, membership dues are paid every semester.
How many tournaments does the club participate in every semester?
The club typically participates in 2-3 tournaments per semester.
Who pays for the club’s travels to tournaments and practices?
The club covers most expenses, including travel, through reimbursements from the club account. Members need to save their receipts and follow the reimbursement process (see Resources page).
How frequent are the practices every semester?
The club usually holds 2-3 practices per semester, including a club championship towards the end of each semester. Practices consist of paid-for rounds of 9 or 18 holes.
What kinds of events do you have beyond practice?
Beyond practice, the club organizes subsidized driving range sessions, practice rounds, and access to a TrackMan simulator. The club also participate in tournaments and hosts social events such as team dinners. Additionally, a simulator league is in action!
Who pays for the club’s travels to tournaments and practices?
The club pays for travel expenses through reimbursements, provided the travel is approved and receipts are submitted.
